NON INTEREST BASE BANKING A CASE STUDY OF HABIB (NIGERIA) BANK LIMITED
Abstract
In consideration of various Religious views and different writers protracted arguments of the problems associated with the interest aspect and credit management under the conventional banking and the claims of the provisions an ultimate solution to the problems through the frame work of Non Interest Banking. The study is being undertaken with a view of seeing and analyzing the Non Interest Banking NIB in form of “Case Study” with respect to “Habib Nigeria Bank Limited”. It is Habib Bank experiment because it is the first bank to open Non interest window among the conventional commercial banks in Nigeria. However, the concept of Non Interest Banking (islamic Banking) is relatively a new area in the field of Finance in Nigeria as such this study would reveal how the introduction of the Banking System with it principle of profit sharing can eliminate the present state of indebtedness, contribute greatly to knowledge and serve as basis for further research. The study is divided into five chapters. Chapter one is the introduction, chapter two – Literature Review, Chapter Three – A non Interest Base Banking, Case Study with respect to Habib Nig. Bank Ltd, Chapter fours shows the presentation and analysis of Data where we found among other things that Non Interest Banking is very viable in Nigeria and people are interested in the concept as they are interest in having its knowledge and finally the chapter five summarizes, concluded and gave Recommendation of the study. viii Is also the belief of the researcher that a study of Non Interest Banking Case Study in respect to Habib Nig. Bank Ltd is of great relief in view of the severe crises both developed and developing countries as a result of high interest ate.
