ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT
The title of this research is TV show popularity analysis using data mining and the main objective of this study is to develop an online web application for TV show popularity analysis using data mining. The scope of this study is centered on the development of online web application for TV show popularity analysis using data mining. The work will be restricted to only few video or TV series uploaded to the application development and the number of people that visit or click on each video because it will be on a local server (XAMPP server) and the web application will be simulated to get the sentimental type of user comment either positive or negative and the number of view and and rating of each video to determine its popularity.

1.1 Background of the Study
With the rapid development of sharing websites, more and more people will want to become viewers in their daily entertainment. Such as TV shows and web sites, to attract more viewers. Although several attempts have been made to predict popularity. In addition, episodes released on weekends or holidays may attract more viewers than weekdays. Also, since different episodes are usually released on different days, predicting popularity for TV shows is one of the most interesting and challenging tasks. Easy prediction of TV show trending based on people’s ratings. Good or bad comments based on people’s reviews or comments. Easy import of data and export it to graph. Graphical data in printable format. The visitor will come to know the popularity of the show. Reality TV is the new mantra of television producers and channel executives. The main objective is TRP ratings. Nowadays most television shows are reality shows specializing in dance, singing and acting. We conclude to create a system that will recognize the sentimental comments of people on TV shows. Tweets related to the special show will be removed. The comments will be gathered from various sources social networking websites such as Twitter. It will be evaluated based on the comments of the people and according to the popularity of the TV show. The system allows administrators to add text views like-offs and their sentimental comments. Based on people’s comments, visitors can view TV show popularity data. Visitors can view popular show ratings as well as the top shows in a country.
There are many different types of genres for our TV shows. Some of them are Action, Animation, Biography, Crime, Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Horror, Reality, Mystery, Thriller etc. which have been socially agreed from time to time. Different people like to see different styles and always have a preference. The show’s popularity also depends on what genre it is. For example a thriller may be popular among the younger crowd while a play will fail for the same crowd. Some recent Indian TV shows which have aired recently and have become very popular, “Breath”, “Ghoul”, “Mirzapur”, “Sacred Games”, “The Final Call”. These shows were broadcast for viewing on multiple streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and ZEE5. The Sacred Games were viewed by international audiences and received some amazing reactions. It was critically acclaimed and everyone is already looking forward to air from its next season. A lot of people who watched these shows. An analysis of the popularity of these TV shows will help both viewers and corporate advertisers. Audiences will be able to make choices based on suggestions about the next show and corporate advertisers will be able to sell advertisements based on the popularity of these shows.
We are working on creating an algorithm that will decide whether a particular show will remain popular in the future, a comment we receive from Twitter or other blogging sites. We also have a tendency to develop a GUI that will help users and advertisers evaluate a particular show. Model success will be predicted using machine learning models.
In recent years, microblogging sites have become a popular source for publishing large amounts of user-generated information. A unique feature of these microblogging sites is that the messages users post are short in length and users publish their views and opinions on various topics such as politics, religion, economics, business and entertainment. These large amounts of user-generated information on microblogging sites are used for many applications. Product review mining is an application where potential consumers go through the opinions expressed by previous consumers on various sites before acquiring a particular product or service, while companies are aware of the various products or services posted by consumers on these sites Analyzes feedback to gain information. Over-selling and improving products or services. These microblogging sites are used as a source of data to make predictions of future events, such as predicting election results. Here, we are not talking about just going through one or two user messages on a particular product or service and deciding on it. Instead, the millions of messages that are posted daily on microblogging sites need to be checked, all relevant posts for that product or service need to be removed, different types of user opinions need to be analyzed, and finally summarize into useful information requiring user feedback and feedback. This can be time consuming and tedious for a human being. This is where sentiment analysis comes into use.
Sentence analysis or opinion mining is the automatic extraction of opinions, feelings and emotions from texts. Sentences, opinions and feelings are subjective impressions and not facts, which are objective or neutral. Through sentiment analysis, a given text can be classified into one of three categories – positive, negative or neutral. Sentence analysis of texts can be done at various levels, such as – document, sentence, phrase, word or unit level. There are various websites where we can find the popularity of a particular TV show. People visit those sites and give a numerical rating to a particular episode or a particular show. But microblogging sites provide us with a lot more data than websites. Therefore calculating the popularity of TV shows from microblog data will make public opinion more clear.
1.2 Statement of the Study
It is necessary to build a forecasting model that works as a rating system that will be useful for those who are willing to watch a particular show. They will also be able to get feedback from previous audiences and provide support to new audiences. A huge database of online websites and social media sites will be used for the same. TV shows have gained more popularity among people than anything else in the last decade. People of all ages and countries are watching many TV shows. Now, for a person who has not watched any TV show, what are the criteria to watch a particular TV show. Obviously he / she can find the rating and start watching it. But ratings do not always show a clear picture. They can be misleading. Also, how do you compare TV shows with each other? This is where sentiment analysis can come in handy.

1.3 Aim and Objective of the Study
The main objective of this study is to develop an online web application for TV show popularity analysis using data mining. The specific objectives of this study are:
1. To show a comparison between different TV shows and people’s reaction about each episode.
2. To find out what people are thinking about an upcoming series or upcoming TV series season.

1.4 Significance of the Study
The projects provide a flexible framework for exploring curricular topics and engaging students in developing important 21st century skills such as communication, teamwork and technology skills. In addition, students are inspired by the fun and creative format and the opportunity to make new friends around the world. This proposed research work will add to the existing body of knowledge and provide new software for the individual to evaluate and analyze the popularity of TV shows using data mining.

1.5 Scope of the Study
The scope of this study focuses on the development of online web applications for TV show popularity analysis using data mining. This function will be limited to only a few videos or TV series uploaded to application development and the number of people who visit or click on each video as it would on a local server (XAMPP server).
1.6 Limitation of the Study
Generally, each work has some limitations and this study is not exempted.
The three major limitations of this study are high programming technology as well as financial constraints and lack of time. The constraint of high programming techniques in PHP, JQUERY and MYSQL prevents the researcher from doing in-depth study and analysis of the subject. While the issue of financial constraint limits the frequency of investigation towards / from the institution towards collecting the necessary information related to the study. And lack of time- researchers will engage in this study together with other academic tasks. This will result in a reduction in time devoted to research work.
