ABSTRACT
This project reassesses the concept, objectives and beliefs of Feminists through revealing and evaluating the tensions, contradictions andantagonistic dispositions among the women who claimed that they are being marginalised by men and culture. Ironically, these women seem to have become the Oppressors of their fellow women owing to the high level of oppression and marginalization that are prevalent among them as being portrayed in the selected contemporary plays for this study and compared to the tensions and the antagonistic dispositions that may be so common among Umuada, Umu Iyom and Market women; the powerful socio-cultural female groups in the society that are bound by Culture to protect and defend the right and interest of women. This study employs Library based materials, Participant Observation and interview methods
