THE IMPACT OF PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF ROUTINE PROTOCOLS

ABSTRACT

Dense wireless networks of small, inexpensive sensors called wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are used to gather and share environmental data. WSNs make it easier to accurately monitor and control physical settings from a distance. They can be used for a variety of objectives, including environmental monitoring, military operations, and acquiring sensing data in friendly environments. Due to their low cost and ad hoc deployment approach, sensor nodes have a variety of energy and computing constraints. Significant research has been devoted to finding ways to address these shortcomings through more energy-efficient routing, localization algorithms, and system design. The chosen routing protocol has a significant impact on the effectiveness of sensor networks. Three different kinds of routing protocols—LEACH, DD, and VGA—are examined in this study. These routing protocols have been put into practice and tested employing the Sensoria simulator. A number of simulations are run to examine the effectiveness of various protocols, including the power consumption, delay, and throughput to gauge the effectiveness of the entire network. The simulation findings demonstrate that when energy consumption percentages fall, VGA approach outperforms LEACH and DD in terms of network lifespan performance, while energy consumption percentages increase, LEACH outperforms VGA and DD. Additionally, the results demonstrate that DD performs poorly when compared to LEACH and VGA. This is because the network is saturated with queries, which draw results that satisfy the query toward the requesting node.
