IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF WESTERN FILMS ON TEENAGERS (A CASE STUDY OF FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC NEKEDE)

Abstract:
This research study aims to investigate the impact of Western films on teenagers, specifically focusing on the case study of Federal Polytechnic Nekede. Western films have gained significant popularity worldwide and have become a major source of entertainment for teenagers. However, concerns have been raised regarding the potential influence these films may have on the behavior, attitudes, and values of teenagers.

The objectives of this study are to analyze the consumption patterns of Western films among teenagers, examine the perceived impact of Western films on their behavior and attitudes, and explore the correlation between the exposure to Western films and academic performance. The study will adopt a mixed-methods approach, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Qualitative data will be collected through focus group discussions and in-depth interviews with teenagers to gain insights into their experiences, perceptions, and interpretations of Western films. On the other hand, quantitative data will be gathered through questionnaires distributed among a sample of teenagers from Federal Polytechnic Nekede to measure their film consumption habits, behavioral changes, and academic performance.

The findings of this study will contribute to the existing literature on the impact of Western films on teenagers, particularly within the context of Federal Polytechnic Nekede. The research aims to provide valuable insights for parents, educators, policymakers, and other stakeholders to better understand the effects of Western films on teenagers’ lives and make informed decisions regarding media consumption.
