Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the relationship between counseling services and the academic performance of students in English Language in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria. The study recognizes the importance of counseling services in supporting students' emotional and academic well-being, particularly in a subject as crucial as English Language. The research methodology involves the use of a survey questionnaire administered to a sample of students from various secondary schools in the area.
The data collected will be analyzed using statistical techniques such as correlation and regression analysis to determine the extent of the relationship between counseling services and academic performance. The study will also examine the specific counseling services available to students in the area, including individual counseling, group counseling, academic guidance, and career counseling.
The findings of this research will contribute to the existing body of knowledge regarding the impact of counseling services on students' academic performance in English Language. It is hypothesized that students who have access to counseling services will demonstrate better academic performance compared to those who do not. The research findings will provide insights into the effectiveness of counseling services and their potential benefits for students' academic achievement.
