Abstract:
This abstract provides a concise overview of the association between public policy and the management of secondary schools in Kwara State, Nigeria. The study aims to explore the impact of public policy on various aspects of secondary school management, including educational infrastructure, curriculum development, teacher recruitment and training, and student outcomes.

The research methodology employed a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data was collected through document analysis, interviews with key stakeholders such as government officials, school administrators, teachers, and students, as well as surveys administered to a representative sample of secondary schools in Kwara State.

Preliminary. findings indicate that public policies have played a crucial role in shaping the management of secondary schools in the state. The analysis of educational infrastructure reveals that government policies have influenced the construction, maintenance, and equipping of school facilities, which in turn impact the learning environment and student performance.

Furthermore., curriculum development policies have provided guidelines for the design and implementation of educational programs, ensuring alignment with national educational objectives and standards. The study also highlights the influence of policies on teacher recruitment and training, including certification requirements, professional development opportunities, and incentives.

The association between public policy and student outcomes is a significant focus of the research. Initial data analysis suggests that policy interventions have had mixed effects on student achievement, with variations across schools and regions. Factors such as resource allocation, teacher quality, and parental involvement emerge as critical determinants of student performance.

Overall, this study contributes to the understanding of the association between public policy and the management of secondary schools in Kwara State, Nigeria. The findings have implications for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders involved in shaping educational policies and improving secondary school management. Further analysis and a comprehensive examination of the data are necessary to develop evidence-based recommendations for policy reform and effective school management practices in the state.
