Abstract:
This abstract provides a summary of the difficult component areas of research experienced by lecturers in the Faculty of Education at the Federal University of Kashere, located in Gombe State, Nigeria. The Faculty of Education plays a vital role in preparing future educators and conducting research to enhance educational practices. However, despite the importance of research, lecturers often encounter challenges in various areas of their research endeavors. This study aims to identify and explore these difficult component areas of research experienced by lecturers in the Faculty of Education, shedding light on the specific challenges they face.

The research employs a qualitative research design to gather in-depth insights from lecturers in the Faculty of Education. Data collection methods include interviews, focus groups, and document analysis. A purposive sampling technique is used to select participants who have substantial experience in conducting research in the field of education.

Preliminary findings reveal several difficult component areas of research faced by lecturers in the Faculty of Education. These areas include:

1. Research Design and Methodology: Lecturers often encounter challenges in selecting appropriate research designs and methodologies that align with their research objectives. This difficulty stems from a lack of familiarity with various research paradigms and limited exposure to advanced research techniques.
2. Data Collection and Analysis: Lecturers face difficulties in collecting relevant and reliable data due to limited access to research participants, bureaucratic hurdles, and inadequate resources. Additionally, analyzing the collected data using appropriate statistical tools and software poses challenges for lecturers, especially those with limited statistical knowledge.
3. Literature Review: Conducting a comprehensive literature review proves challenging for lecturers, as it requires extensive reading, critical analysis, and synthesis of existing research. Limited access to relevant scholarly resources and time constraints further exacerbate this difficulty.
4. Publication and Dissemination: Lecturers encounter obstacles in publishing their research findings in reputable journals, which affects their career advancement and institutional recognition. Additionally, effectively disseminating research outcomes to relevant stakeholders within and beyond academia poses significant challenges.

The identification of these difficult component areas of research experienced by lecturers in the Faculty of Education provides valuable insights for both the faculty and the university administration. Addressing these challenges requires targeted interventions, such as providing research capacity-building programs, facilitating access to research resources, and fostering collaborations with external research institutions.

By addressing the identified difficulties, the Faculty of Education at the Federal University of Kashere can enhance the research productivity and impact of its lecturers, ultimately contributing to the improvement of educational practices and policies in Gombe State and beyond.
