Abstract:
This study investigates the relationship between economic recession and teacher productivity in Kwara State secondary schools, Nigeria. Economic recessions are periods of significant economic decline characterized by reduced economic activity, lower incomes, and increased unemployment rates. Such periods can have wide-ranging effects on various sectors, including education.

In this research, the focus is specifically on the impact of economic recessions on teacher productivity in secondary schools. Teacher productivity is a critical factor that influences educational outcomes, student performance, and overall educational quality. Understanding the correlation between economic recessions and teacher productivity can provide valuable insights for policymakers, administrators, and stakeholders in the education sector.

The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis and qualitative interviews. Quantitative data is collected through surveys administered to teachers in Kwara State secondary schools, using a structured questionnaire.
