Abstract:
This study examines the relationship between digital competencies and the efficiency of secretarial personnel in Osun State Polytechnic, Iree. The rapid advancement of technology has significantly transformed the workplace, including the field of secretarial practice. Secretarial personnel are now required to possess digital competencies to effectively perform their duties in the digital age.

The objective of this study is to investigate the extent to which digital competencies impact the efficiency of secretarial personnel in Osun State Polytechnic, Iree. It aims to identify the specific digital competencies that are most essential for secretarial personnel and explore how these competencies contribute to their overall efficiency.

A mixed-methods research design will be employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. The sample will consist of secretarial personnel working in various departments of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree. The survey will assess the digital competencies of secretarial personnel, including proficiency in using office productivity tools, information management systems, communication platforms, and internet research skills. Efficiency will be measured through self-report assessments and supervisor evaluations.

The qualitative interviews will provide in-depth insights into the experiences and perceptions of secretarial personnel regarding the impact of digital competencies on their efficiency. The interviews will also explore any challenges faced in acquiring and utilizing digital competencies in their daily work.

The findings of this study are expected to reveal the relationship between digital competencies and secretarial personnel efficiency in Osun State Polytechnic, Iree. It is anticipated that secretarial personnel with higher levels of digital competencies will demonstrate greater efficiency in their work. The study will contribute to the existing literature on digital competencies in the context of secretarial practice.

The results will have practical implications for the training and development of secretarial personnel in Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, as well as other similar educational institutions and organizations. It will provide insights into the specific digital competencies that should be emphasized in secretarial training programs to enhance the efficiency and productivity of secretarial personnel in the digital era.
