SMALL-SCALE AGRICULTURAL FINANCING IN NIGERIA
Due to the capital-intensive nature of modern farming, the role of banks in providing sustainable credit to farmers cannot be over emphasized. The study sought to find out the effect of credit on farmers output as well as the problems encountered by banks in credit delivery. This study was carried out in the predominantly farming communities of Anambra East and West and Oyi LGAs of Anambra State and, the commercial and development hanks located in these communities. Two research questions guided the study. Survey research design was employed for the study and, t-test statistics was used to analyze data and test the significance of difference at 0.05 level. The farmers who benefited from bank loan had a better and mote output than those who did not. Also, there was disparity in the problems encountered by the commercial and development banks.
