A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF CONSERVATION TECHNIQUES AT UNITY MUSEUM, ENUGU AND NATIONAL WAR MUSEUM, UMUAHIA
ABSTRACT
The focus of this study is on “A comparative study of Conservation Techniques at Unity Museum, Enugu and National War Museum, Umuahia. To accomplish this task, the researcher adopted the qualitative research method. The simple random, stratified and cluster sampling techniques of the probability sampling was used. The research used Systems theory as theoretical framework for explanation. The research findings reveal their techniques used at Unity Museum, Enugu and National War Museum, Umuahia and made comparative approach to the study. It was observed that while Unity Museum, Enugu has great commitment to modern methods of preservation and conservation of its artifacts, the National War Museum, Umuahia is yet to adopt a good method which has a great detrimental and adverse effect on the museum objects.
