AN EVALUATION OF GENERAL ORGANIZATION OFTHE CHILDREN’S DEPARTMENT IN SELECTED BAPTIST CHURCHES OF EJIGBO BAPTIST ASSOCIATION

1.1 Background to the Study

looking at the role and attention with carefulness given to children Within the church community, the Children’s Department is essential to the spiritual and overall development of children. However, the Children’s Department’s capacity to accomplish its goals can be considerably impacted by how well it is organized and operates. This study attempts to assess the basic structure of the children’s ministry in a few Baptist churches under the Ejigbo Baptist Association.

As a place to nurture and mentor kids on their spiritual journey, the children’s department plays a key role in Baptist churches. The structure and operation of the children’s department significantly impact how children in the church community develop spiritually, develop as people, and generally fare well (Keller, 2017).

The spiritual development and discipleship of its members, including children, is a long-standing priority for Baptist churches. The Children’s Department is a devoted ministry that aims to address the unique spiritual needs of children by imparting biblical teachings that are age-appropriate, establishing community, and promoting active participation in church events (Perry, 2019).

Nevertheless, despite the importance of the Children’s Department, its overall structure within the Baptist Churches of the Ejigbo Baptist Association may present difficulties and opportunities for development. These obstacles may include a lack of suitable resources, including human and financial resources, and problems with leadership, curriculum, program design, and general efficacy.

Addressing these challenges requires a comprehensive evaluation of the current organizational structure and functioning of the Children’s Department. By conducting this research, valuable insights can be gained to enhance the effectiveness and impact of the Children’s Department in fulfilling its objectives and meeting the spiritual needs of children within the Baptist Churches of the Ejigbo Baptist Association.
