DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF HOSTEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM USING PHP WITH SOURCE CODE
ABSTRACT
This project is based on the Design and Implementation of an Online Hotel Management System. It evolved from the manual file record system used to store hostel details, room details, student records, hostel allocation, and other data in the hostel. With the help of the internet, computers and other mobile devices are used to manage hostel records and help the administrator effectively access these records. This project aims to create an efficient and reliable hostel management system that can do all the manual work with ease. To achieve its aim and objectives, a database was created, and design steps were taken using the iterative and incremental model. This project is carried out using PHP, MySQL with other frontend and backend technologies using Visual Studio Community 2017 as the Integrated Development Environment.
The Hostel Management System created is useful in helping hostel administrators, record officers monitor and manage their respective operations properly. It is also a faster and more efficient way of keeping hostel records and monitoring them.

Here, Students/Users can log in and view room details, and book the hostel easily. The user can change their password anytime. Admin can add/manage rooms, courses, students, and many more. This simple project is done in PHP & It’s easy to operate and understand by users. The design is pretty simple and the user won’t find it difficult to understand, use and navigate.
How To Run?
You’ll need XAMP Server or WAMP Server. Put the file inside “c:/wamp/www/” or “c:/xampp/htdocs/”. Go To “localhost/phpmyadmin” in any browser and create a Database named “hostel”.In That Database, Import hostel.sql and finally open go to the URL: “http://localhost/file_name/phpfilename”
Don’t Forget To create a database and import SQL files to run.
