Isolation and Characterization of Soil-Associated Bacteria Producing Antimicrobial Compounds

ABSTRACT

This study focuses on the isolation and comprehensive characterization of bacteria obtained from soil samples exhibiting antimicrobial activity. Through a series of cultivation and screening processes, a diverse range of bacteria were isolated and assessed for their potential to produce antimicrobial compounds. Morphological, biochemical, and molecular techniques were employed to identify and classify these isolates. Furthermore, the antimicrobial activity of the compounds produced by the selected bacteria was evaluated against a panel of pathogenic microorganisms. The results reveal a promising reservoir of soil-associated bacteria with the ability to synthesize potent antimicrobial agents. This research contributes to the exploration of natural sources for novel antimicrobial compounds and highlights the potential significance of soil bacteria in biopharmaceutical research and development
