AN EVALUATION OF THE IMPACT OF PERSONAL RECORDS MANAGEMENT ON ORGANISATIONAL EFFICIENCY AND PRODUCTIVITY IN NIGERIAN BUSINESSES

Abstract:
Effective records management is a critical factor for organizational efficiency and productivity in any business setting. This study aims to evaluate the impact of personal records management on organizational efficiency and productivity in Nigerian businesses. The study will focus on the Nigerian context due to its unique organizational landscape and cultural influences on record-keeping practices.

The research will adopt a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques. The qualitative phase will involve interviews and focus group discussions with employees and managers from various Nigerian businesses. These discussions will explore the current state of personal records management, identify challenges faced, and highlight best practices.

The quantitative phase will utilize surveys to collect data on personal records management practices, organizational efficiency, and productivity indicators. The surveys will be distributed among a representative sample of employees across different sectors and organisational sizes in Nigeria. Statistical analysis techniques, such as correlation and regression analysis, will be employed to examine the relationship between personal records management and organisational efficiency and productivity.

The findings of this study will provide valuable insights into the impact of personal record management on organisational efficiency and productivity in Nigerian businesses. It will identify the key factors that influence effective personal record management and highlight areas for improvement. The results will be beneficial for organisations seeking to enhance their record-keeping practices and optimise efficiency and productivity.

The study’s implications will extend beyond the Nigerian context, as the findings can inform records management practises in other developing economies facing similar challenges. By understanding the relationship between personal records management and organisational outcomes, businesses can develop strategies to streamline record-keeping processes, improve data accessibility and accuracy, and ultimately enhance overall efficiency and productivity.
