MORPHOLOGY ANALYSIS OF LEAD IODIDE- AND LEAD ACETATE-BASED PEROVSKITE LAYERS FOR SOLAR CELL APPLICATION

Abstract:
Perovskite materials have emerged as promising candidates for next-generation solar cell applications due to their high efficiency, low-cost fabrication, and tunable optoelectronic properties. In this study, we investigate the morphology analysis of lead iodide (PbI2)- and lead acetate (Pb(CH3COO)2)-based perovskite layers for solar cell applications.

The morphology of the perovskite layer plays a crucial role in determining the device performance, as it affects the light absorption, charge transport, and recombination processes. To evaluate the morphology, we utilize various characterization techniques, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD).

Initially, we prepare perovskite thin films using the spin-coating technique on different substrates. The films are then annealed under controlled conditions to promote the formation of the desired perovskite crystal structure. Subsequently, SEM and AFM are employed to examine the surface topography, grain size, and uniformity of the perovskite layers.

Furthermore, XRD analysis is conducted to investigate the crystallinity and phase purity of the perovskite films. The obtained data are correlated with the solar cell performance parameters, including power conversion efficiency (PCE), open-circuit voltage (Voc), short-circuit current density (Jsc), and fill factor (FF).

By comparing the morphology and device performance of lead iodide- and lead acetate-based perovskite layers, we aim to gain insights into the impact of different precursor materials on the resulting morphology and solar cell performance. This analysis will provide valuable information for optimizing the fabrication process and enhancing the efficiency of perovskite solar cells.
