Abstract:

This research study aims to analyze the impact of financial technology (fintech) applications on the financial performance of transportation companies in Nigeria. Fintech has revolutionized various sectors, including finance and transportation, by leveraging technological advancements to provide innovative solutions. In Nigeria, the transportation sector plays a vital role in the country’s economic development. However, transportation companies face numerous challenges, such as inefficient payment systems, lack of access to formal credit, and limited financial inclusion.

This study will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis and qualitative interviews with key industry stakeholders. The quantitative analysis will involve collecting financial data from selected transportation companies and evaluating the financial performance indicators before and after the adoption of fintech applications. The study will focus on various fintech applications, such as mobile payment systems, digital lending platforms, and blockchain-based solutions, and their impact on financial metrics, including revenue growth, cost reduction, profitability, and efficiency.

Furthermore, qualitative interviews will be conducted with transportation company executives, industry experts, regulators, and fintech providers to gain insights into the drivers, challenges, and opportunities associated with fintech adoption in the transportation sector. The interviews will explore factors influencing the adoption of fintech applications, including regulatory environment, infrastructure, consumer behavior, and trust and security concerns.

The findings of this study will contribute to the existing literature on the impact of fintech on the financial performance of transportation companies in emerging markets, specifically Nigeria. The results will provide valuable insights for transportation companies, policymakers, and fintech providers, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding the adoption and implementation of fintech applications. Additionally, the study will shed light on potential strategies to enhance financial inclusion, promote digital payments, and improve the overall financial performance of transportation companies in Nigeria.
