EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF FINTECH-ENABLED FRAUD DETECTION AND PREVENTION IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY.

Abstract:
Fraudulent activities within the pharmaceutical industry pose significant risks, including financial losses, compromised patient safety, and damage to the reputation of pharmaceutical companies. With the rapid advancement of financial technologies (fintech), there is growing interest in leveraging fintech tools for fraud detection and prevention in the pharmaceutical sector. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of fintech-enabled fraud detection and prevention methods in the pharmaceutical industry.

The research will adopt a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of historical data and qualitative insights from key industry stakeholders. The quantitative analysis will involve reviewing historical financial and transactional data to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential fraudulent activities. Various machine learning algorithms and data mining techniques will be employed to develop predictive models for fraud detection.

In addition to the quantitative analysis, interviews and focus groups will be conducted with pharmaceutical industry professionals, regulatory authorities, and technology experts to gather qualitative insights on the implementation and impact of fintech-enabled fraud detection and prevention systems. These interviews will help identify the challenges, opportunities, and best practices associated with implementing fintech solutions in the pharmaceutical industry.

The study aims to assess the effectiveness of fintech-enabled fraud detection and prevention systems by evaluating key performance indicators such as fraud detection accuracy, false positive rates, and response time. It will also consider the cost-benefit analysis of implementing these systems compared to traditional fraud detection methods.

The findings of this research will contribute to the understanding of the potential benefits and limitations of fintech-enabled fraud detection and prevention in the pharmaceutical industry. The results will inform pharmaceutical companies, regulatory authorities, and technology providers about the effectiveness and feasibility of adopting fintech solutions for combating fraud. Ultimately, this research aims to enhance fraud detection and prevention measures, thereby safeguarding the financial integrity and public health within the pharmaceutical industry.
