EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF REGTECH SOLUTIONS IN ENSURING DATA PRIVACY AND SECURITY IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY. 

Abstract:

The pharmaceutical industry has witnessed an exponential increase in the volume and complexity of data, alongside growing concerns regarding data privacy and security. The advent of regulatory technology (RegTech) solutions offers promising avenues for addressing these challenges. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of RegTech solutions in ensuring data privacy and security within the pharmaceutical industry.

The research will adopt a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods. Firstly, a comprehensive literature review will be conducted to explore the current state of data privacy and security issues in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as existing RegTech solutions. This review will provide a theoretical framework for the subsequent empirical investigation.

The empirical investigation will involve the collection of primary data through surveys and interviews with professionals working in the pharmaceutical industry, including regulatory authorities, pharmaceutical companies, and technology vendors. The survey will gather quantitative data on the adoption and perceived effectiveness of RegTech solutions in ensuring data privacy and security. Meanwhile, the interviews will provide qualitative insights into the implementation challenges, benefits, and limitations associated with these solutions.

The collected data will be analyzed using appropriate statistical techniques for quantitative data and thematic analysis for qualitative data. The quantitative analysis will examine the relationship between the adoption of RegTech solutions and the perceived effectiveness of data privacy and security measures. Additionally, the qualitative analysis will identify common themes and patterns related to the implementation and impact of RegTech solutions.

The findings of this study will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by evaluating the effectiveness of RegTech solutions in addressing data privacy and security concerns within the pharmaceutical industry. The research outcomes will inform pharmaceutical companies, regulatory authorities, and technology vendors about the potential benefits and limitations of implementing RegTech solutions. Furthermore, the study will provide insights into the challenges associated with the adoption and integration of these solutions, thus guiding future research and development efforts.
