Abstract:
This abstract provides a summary of a study conducted to explore the relationship between principals' supervisory strategies and teachers' effectiveness in public secondary schools in Anambra State. The study aimed to investigate the extent to which principals' supervisory strategies influenced teachers' effectiveness and to identify specific supervisory strategies that were perceived as effective by teachers.

The research followed a quantitative research design and employed a survey questionnaire as the primary data collection tool. The questionnaire was distributed to a sample of teachers from different public secondary schools in Anambra State. The sample was selected using a stratified random sampling technique to ensure representation from various schools across the state.

The study found that principals' supervisory strategies significantly correlated with teachers' effectiveness in public secondary schools. The findings indicated that certain supervisory strategies, such as providing constructive feedback, promoting professional development opportunities, and fostering a positive school climate, were positively associated with teachers' effectiveness.

Furthermore, the study revealed that effective communication, collaborative decision-making, and instructional support were perceived as essential supervisory strategies by teachers. Principals who effectively implemented these strategies were more likely to enhance teachers' instructional practices and improve overall teacher effectiveness.

The findings of this study have significant implications for educational administrators, policymakers, and school leaders in Anambra State. It underscores the importance of principals' supervisory strategies in promoting teachers' effectiveness and overall school improvement. By implementing effective supervisory strategies, principals can create a supportive and conducive environment that empowers teachers to enhance their instructional practices and positively impact student learning outcomes.

Based on the study's findings, recommendations were made to encourage principals in Anambra State to prioritize the adoption of effective supervisory strategies. These recommendations include providing professional development opportunities for principals to enhance their supervisory skills, fostering a culture of collaboration and open communication, and establishing mechanisms for continuous feedback and support to teachers.

In conclusion, this study contributes to the existing literature by highlighting the significance of principals' supervisory strategies in shaping teachers' effectiveness in public secondary schools. It emphasizes the need for educational leaders to invest in effective supervision practices to promote a culture of continuous improvement and enhance the overall quality of education in Anambra State.
