Abstract:
This study explores the relationship between parental styles and aggressive behavior among teenagers in marginalized communities. The impact of parenting practices on adolescent behavior has been widely studied, but less attention has been given to understanding this relationship in the context of marginalized communities. The objective of this research is to examine how different parental styles influence the manifestation of aggressive behavior in teenagers, particularly in communities facing socioeconomic challenges.

The study employs a quantitative research design, utilizing survey questionnaires to collect data from a representative sample of teenagers (aged 13-19 years) living in marginalized communities. The Parental Styles Index and the Aggression Questionnaire are employed to assess parental styles and aggressive behavior, respectively. Additionally, demographic variables such as age, gender, socioeconomic status, and family structure are included as control variables.

The findings of this study will contribute to a deeper understanding of the role of parental styles in shaping aggressive behavior among teenagers in marginalized communities. It is hypothesized that certain parental styles, such as authoritarian or neglectful parenting, may be associated with higher levels of aggressive behavior in teenagers. Conversely, authoritative or supportive parenting styles are expected to correlate with lower levels of aggression.

The implications of this research are significant for both academic and practical purposes. Understanding the influence of parental styles on aggressive behavior can inform the development of effective interventions and programs that target parents in marginalized communities. By promoting positive parenting practices, such interventions may help reduce aggressive behavior among teenagers and contribute to the overall well-being of families and communities.

This study acknowledges the limitations of a cross-sectional design and the potential for self-report bias. Future research could incorporate longitudinal designs and multiple informants to enhance the validity and generalizability of the findings. Moreover, qualitative studies could provide a deeper understanding of the contextual factors that influence parental styles and aggressive behavior in marginalized communities.

In conclusion, this study seeks to shed light on the relationship between parental styles and aggressive behavior among teenagers in marginalized communities. By exploring this relationship, the research aims to contribute to the development of targeted interventions that can effectively address aggressive behavior and promote positive parenting practices in marginalized communities.
