Abstract:
This study investigates the relationship between quality assurance efforts and the academic performance of public secondary school students in Cross River State, Nigeria. Quality assurance in education plays a crucial role in ensuring that students receive a high-quality education and achieve desirable learning outcomes. The study aims to assess the various quality assurance measures implemented in public secondary schools and determine their impact on students' academic performance.
The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data collected through a survey questionnaire and qualitative data obtained through interviews and observations. The sample consists of public secondary school students in Cross River State, Nigeria, and relevant stakeholders involved in quality assurance efforts, including teachers, school administrators, and government officials.
The quantitative data collected from the survey questionnaire are analyzed using statistical techniques such as descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The qualitative data obtained from interviews and observations are analyzed thematically to identify common themes and patterns related to quality assurance efforts and academic performance.
The findings of this study have significant implications for educational policymakers, school administrators, and teachers in Cross River State, Nigeria. The study provides insights into the effectiveness of existing quality assurance measures and highlights areas that require improvement. It also identifies best practices and strategies that can enhance students' academic performance in public secondary schools.
The results of this study contribute to the existing body of knowledge on quality assurance in education in Nigeria, particularly in the context of public secondary schools. By identifying the factors that influence academic performance, policymakers can make informed decisions to improve the quality of education and enhance students' learning outcomes.
The study concludes with recommendations for strengthening quality assurance efforts in public secondary schools in Cross River State, Nigeria. These recommendations include the need for comprehensive teacher training programs, adequate resource allocation, effective monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, and collaborative efforts among stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement in educational quality.
