ABSTRACT
Business education plays a crucial role in equipping individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to thrive in the dynamic world of entrepreneurship and contribute to sustainable economic development. This research project aims to explore the potential of business education as an instrument for fostering entrepreneurship and promoting sustainable economic development in Abia State, Nigeria.
A qualitative research approach will be employed, utilizing interviews and case studies to gather data. The research objectives include examining the current state of business education in Abia State, identifying the entrepreneurship skills and knowledge imparted through business education, exploring the role of business education in fostering entrepreneurial mindsets, and assessing the impact of business education on sustainable economic development in the state.
The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the role of business education in promoting entrepreneurship and sustainable economic development in Abia State. The research will assess the current state of business education, including the curriculum, teaching methodologies, and resources available. It will identify the specific entrepreneurship skills and knowledge areas emphasized in business education programs and their alignment with the needs of the local economy. Additionally, the research will explore the impact of business education on graduates’ entrepreneurial mindsets and their contribution to sustainable economic development through business ventures and job creation.
The implications of this research extend to educators, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and the broader community in Abia State.
