ABSTRACT

This research project aims to investigate the status and management of resources for effective instructional delivery of business education programmes in tertiary institutions in Delta State. The availability and effective management of resources play a critical role in ensuring high-quality instructional delivery and optimal learning outcomes. This study seeks to examine the current status of resources, including human, material, and technological resources, for the teaching of business education programmes in tertiary institutions. Additionally, the research aims to explore the strategies and challenges associated with the management of these resources, and propose recommendations for improving resource management in order to enhance instructional delivery.

A mixed-methods research design will be employed, utilizing surveys, interviews, and document analysis to collect data from business education teachers, administrators, and relevant stakeholders in tertiary institutions in Delta State. The research objectives include assessing the current status of resources, examining resource management strategies, identifying challenges in resource management, and proposing recommendations for improvement.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the status and management of resources for effective instructional delivery of business education programmes. The research will assess the availability and adequacy of human resources, including the qualifications, experience, and professional development opportunities for business education teachers. It will also evaluate the availability and utilization of material resources, such as textbooks, teaching aids, and library facilities, as well as the integration of technology in instructional delivery. Additionally, the study will explore the resource management strategies employed by tertiary institutions, including resource allocation, utilization, and maintenance practices. Furthermore, the research will identify challenges in resource management, such as limited funding, inadequate infrastructure, technological constraints, and administrative barriers. Based on the findings, recommendations will be proposed for improving resource management, including capacity building for teachers, enhanced infrastructure development, strategic resource allocation, and collaboration with industry partners.

The implications of this research extend to business education teachers, administrators, policymakers, and educational stakeholders. The findings will provide teachers and administrators with insights into the current status of resources and resource management practices, guiding their efforts to improve resource provision and management strategies. Policymakers can utilize the research findings to inform policies and initiatives that support the enhancement of resources in tertiary institutions. Educational stakeholders, such as curriculum developers and educational technology providers, can benefit from the research findings by gaining an understanding of the specific resource needs and challenges in the delivery of business education programmes, enabling them to develop relevant materials, tools, and support initiatives.

In conclusion, this research project investigates the status and management of resources for effective instructional delivery of business education programmes in tertiary institutions in Delta State. By assessing resources, exploring management strategies, identifying challenges, and proposing recommendations, stakeholders can work towards improving resource status and management practices, thereby enhancing the instructional delivery of business education programmes
