In Nigeria, a distressed economy presents both prospects and challenges for the development of vocational and technical education. This abstract provides an overview of the prospects and challenges faced by vocational and technical education in Nigeria under a distressed economy.
Prospects:
Skill Development: Vocational and technical education offers opportunities for individuals to acquire practical skills and competencies in various fields. In a distressed economy, there is a growing demand for skilled workers who can contribute to sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, construction, and renewable energy. Vocational and technical education can help address the skills gap and enhance employability.
Entrepreneurship Development: Vocational and technical education can foster entrepreneurship by providing individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to start and manage their own businesses.
