ASSESSMENT OF GOVERNMENT-MISSION PARTNERSHIP IN INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN RETURNED SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN ANAMBRA STATE
Abstract:
This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the government-mission partnership in the infrastructural development of returned secondary schools in Anambra State, Nigeria. The partnership between the government and mission organizations plays a vital role in addressing the infrastructure deficit in educational institutions. The study focuses on returned secondary schools, which are schools previously owned by mission organizations but have been returned to government control.
The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. The quantitative data will be obtained through a structured questionnaire administered to school administrators, teachers, and students. The qualitative data will be gathered through interviews and focus group discussions with key stakeholders such as government officials, representatives from mission organizations, and community members.
The assessment will evaluate the extent of collaboration between the government and mission organizations in infrastructure development initiatives, including the allocation of resources, planning, and implementation of projects. It will also examine the impact of the partnership on the overall quality of educational infrastructure in returned secondary schools, including the provision of classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and other essential facilities.
Furthermore, the study will explore the challenges and constraints faced by the government-mission partnership in infrastructural development, such as financial limitations, bureaucratic procedures, and conflicting priorities. It will identify best practices and strategies for enhancing the effectiveness of the partnership and propose recommendations for improvement.
The findings of this study will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on government-mission partnerships in educational infrastructure development. The results will provide insights into the strengths and weaknesses of the partnership model in Anambra State and inform policymakers, government agencies, and mission organizations on how to enhance their collaboration for sustainable infrastructural development in returned secondary schools.
