Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the proficiency level of academic staff in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and its impact on efficient job performances in Colleges of Education in Delta State. In today's digital age, ICT has become an integral part of the educational landscape, and its effective utilization is crucial for enhancing teaching, research, administrative tasks, and overall educational outcomes.

The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive data. A sample of academic staff members from various Colleges of Education in Delta State will be selected using a stratified random sampling technique. The survey will assess the current ICT proficiency levels of the participants, including their knowledge, skills, and attitudes towards technology.

The study will investigate the relationship between the ICT proficiency level of academic staff and their job performances. Job performance indicators such as instructional quality, research productivity, administrative efficiency, and student engagement will be evaluated. Statistical analysis techniques, including correlation and regression analysis, will be employed to determine the extent to which ICT proficiency influences job performances.

Additionally, qualitative interviews will be conducted with a subset of participants to gain deeper insights into the factors influencing ICT proficiency and its impact on job performances. The interviews will explore challenges faced by academic staff in utilizing ICT tools effectively, training and support mechanisms provided by the institutions, and strategies for improving ICT proficiency and job performances.

The findings of this study will provide valuable insights into the current ICT proficiency levels of academic staff in Colleges of Education in Delta State. The research outcomes will aid educational policymakers, administrators, and institutions in developing targeted strategies to enhance ICT proficiency among academic staff.
