INFLUENCE OF ENTRENEURIAL EDUCATION ON SELF- EMPLOYMENT PROSPECTS OF FINAL YEAR STUDENTS OF PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN ORLU EDUCATIONAL ZONE OF IMO STATE

Abstract:
The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of entrepreneurial education on the self-employment prospects of final year students attending public secondary schools in the Orlu Educational Zone of Imo State. Entrepreneurial education plays a crucial role in equipping students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for successful entrepreneurship and self-employment.

The study employs a quantitative research design, utilizing a structured questionnaire to collect data from a sample of final year students in public secondary schools within the Orlu Educational Zone. The questionnaire focuses on assessing the extent of entrepreneurial education received, the students' perception of its relevance, and their self-employment intentions upon graduation.

Data analysis will be conducted using statistical techniques such as descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, including regression analysis, to examine the relationship between entrepreneurial education and self-employment prospects.

The findings of this study will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on the impact of entrepreneurial education on self-employment prospects, particularly within the context of public secondary schools in the Orlu Educational Zone. It is expected that the results will provide insights into the effectiveness of current entrepreneurial education programs and inform policy recommendations to enhance entrepreneurship education in the region.

The study's outcomes will be beneficial to educational policymakers, school administrators, teachers, and students, as well as other stakeholders interested in promoting entrepreneurship education. By understanding the influence of entrepreneurial education on self-employment prospects, educators can develop more effective strategies to foster an entrepreneurial mindset and enhance the entrepreneurial capabilities of students.
