Abstract:
This abstract provides a concise summary of the study investigating the relationship between manpower development practices and lecturers' research productivity in tertiary institutions located in Cross River State, Nigeria. The research aims to explore the influence of various human resource development initiatives on lecturers' research output, with a specific focus on the tertiary education sector in Cross River State.
The study adopts a quantitative research design, utilizing a survey questionnaire as the primary data collection instrument. The questionnaire is distributed among lecturers in selected tertiary institutions within Cross River State, and data is collected on variables related to manpower development practices, such as training programs, workshops, conferences, research funding, and institutional support. Research productivity is measured through indicators such as the number of research publications, conference presentations, and grants obtained by the lecturers.
The collected data is analyzed using appropriate statistical techniques, including correlation analysis and regression analysis, to determine the relationship between manpower development practices and lecturers' research productivity. The findings of the study are expected to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on the importance of manpower development practices in enhancing research productivity among lecturers in Nigerian tertiary institutions.
