Abstract:
This abstract focuses on identifying the sustainable leadership skills needs of Brick/Block-Laying and Concreting (BBC) students in Government Technical Colleges of Kano State, Nigeria, with the aim of promoting self-reliance and sustainable development within the construction industry.

The construction industry plays a vital role in socio-economic development, and the acquisition of sustainable leadership skills by BBC students is crucial for their future success and the advancement of the industry. This study aims to bridge the gap between traditional technical skills and contemporary leadership skills by identifying the specific leadership competencies required for BBC students in Kano State.

The research methodology consists of a comprehensive literature review, interviews with industry experts, and surveys administered to BBC students and instructors in Government Technical Colleges. The data collected will be analyzed using qualitative and quantitative methods to identify the key sustainable leadership skills that BBC students need to develop.

The findings of this study will provide valuable insights into the current state of leadership education in BBC programs and identify areas that require improvement. By addressing the skills gap and integrating sustainable leadership skills into the curriculum, this research aims to equip BBC students with the necessary competencies to become self-reliant and adaptable leaders in the construction industry.

The implications of this study are significant for educational institutions, policymakers, and industry stakeholders. The incorporation of sustainable leadership skills into the BBC curriculum will enhance students' employability, promote entrepreneurship, and contribute to the overall sustainable development of Kano State's construction sector.
