Abstract:
This study investigates the relationship between perceived stress and psychological distress among nursing students enrolled in the College of Nursing in Gombe, Nigeria. Nursing students often face demanding academic coursework, clinical placements, and high levels of responsibility, which can contribute to increased stress levels and subsequent psychological distress. Understanding this relationship is crucial for the development of effective interventions and support mechanisms to promote the mental health and well-being of nursing students.

A sample of nursing students from the College of Nursing in Gombe, Nigeria, is recruited for participation. Data are collected through self-report questionnaires that assess perceived stress levels, psychological distress symptoms, and demographic information.

The results of the study are expected to reveal the prevalence of perceived stress and psychological distress among nursing students in this specific setting. Additionally, the study aims to identify the potential factors contributing to stress and psychological distress, such as academic workload, clinical placements, and personal circumstances. The relationship between perceived stress and psychological distress will be analyzed using statistical techniques, such as correlation analysis and regression analysis.
