THE IMPACT OF BUSINESS EDUCATION IN NIGERIA: A TOOL FOR ALLEVIATING SOCIAL VICES
ABSTRACT
This research project aims to investigate the impact of business education in Nigeria as a tool for alleviating social vices. Business education plays a significant role in equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary for entrepreneurship, economic empowerment, and ethical business practices. This study seeks to explore the influence of business education on reducing social vices in Nigeria, including unemployment, poverty, corruption, and youth involvement in criminal activities.
A mixed-methods research design will be employed, utilizing surveys, interviews, and statistical analysis to collect data from business education students, graduates, educators, and professionals in Nigeria. The research objectives include assessing the impact of business education on the acquisition of entrepreneurial skills, analyzing the relationship between business education and the reduction of social vices, identifying challenges and barriers in providing effective business education, and proposing recommendations for enhancing the impact of business education on alleviating social vices.
The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the impact of business education as a tool for alleviating social vices in Nigeria. The research will assess the effectiveness of business education programs in equipping students with entrepreneurial skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, financial management, and innovation. It will analyze the relationship between business education and the reduction of social vices, examining the role of entrepreneurship in creating employment opportunities, reducing poverty, promoting ethical business practices, and diverting youth from engaging in criminal activities.
