THE IMPACTS OF EVALUATION IN BUSINESS EDUCATION ON ECONOMIC AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN BENUE STATE, NIGERIA

ABSTRACT 

This research project aims to investigate the impacts of evaluation in business education on economic and sustainable development in Benue State, Nigeria. Evaluation plays a critical role in assessing the effectiveness of educational programs and ensuring continuous improvement in teaching and learning outcomes. This study seeks to explore the influence of evaluation practices in business education on the economic growth and sustainable development of Benue State.

A mixed-methods research design will be employed, utilizing surveys, interviews, and statistical analysis to collect data from business education students, faculty members, administrators, policymakers, and industry professionals in Benue State. The research objectives include assessing the effectiveness of evaluation practices in business education programs, analyzing the relationship between evaluation and economic development, examining the role of evaluation in promoting sustainable business practices, and identifying challenges and recommendations for enhancing the impact of evaluation in business education.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the impacts of evaluation in business education on economic and sustainable development in Benue State. The research will assess the effectiveness of evaluation practices in business education programs, including the use of assessment methods, feedback mechanisms, and performance indicators. It will analyze the relationship between evaluation and economic development, exploring how evaluation practices can contribute to the development of entrepreneurial skills, job creation, and the growth of businesses in the state. Additionally, the study will examine the role of evaluation in promoting sustainable business practices, such as ethical behavior, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility. It will identify challenges and provide recommendations for enhancing the impact of evaluation in business education, considering factors such as infrastructure, faculty development, industry collaboration, and policy support.

The implications of this research extend to educational institutions, policymakers, business educators, industry professionals, and the local community. The findings will provide educational institutions with insights into the effectiveness of current evaluation practices and inform improvements in evaluation methods and approaches. Policymakers can utilize the research outcomes to inform policy reforms and initiatives that support the integration of evaluation in business education and foster economic and sustainable development.
