EVALUATION OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION PEDAGOGICAL CONTENT KNOWLEDGE FOR BUSINESS EDUCATION STUDENTS’ BUSINESS START-UP IN ABUBAKAR TAFAWA BALEWA UNIVERSITY, BAUCHI

Abstract:
Entrepreneurship education plays a crucial role in equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful business start-up and management. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of entrepreneurship education pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) in facilitating business start-up among Business Education students at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi, Nigeria.

The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive data. A sample of Business Education students who have undergone entrepreneurship education in their academic curriculum will be selected for the study. The quantitative data will be collected through a structured questionnaire, designed to examine the students' perceptions of the entrepreneurship education program, the PCK components included in the curriculum, and their perceived preparedness for business start-up.

The qualitative data will be obtained through in-depth interviews with a subset of students who have successfully launched their own businesses. These interviews will explore the students' experiences, challenges faced, and the extent to which their entrepreneurship education contributed to their business start-up success.

The findings of this study will provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of the entrepreneurship education program at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University. The evaluation of the entrepreneurship education PCK will shed light on the strengths and weaknesses of the curriculum, identifying areas for improvement. Additionally, the study will examine the relationship between entrepreneurship education and students' preparedness for business start-up, exploring the factors that contribute to successful entrepreneurship outcomes.

The results of this study will have practical implications for curriculum development and pedagogical approaches in entrepreneurship education. The findings will inform educators and policymakers about the specific PCK components that are most effective in enhancing students' entrepreneurial competencies and improving their prospects for business start-up success.
