EFFECT OF PRESSURE ON THE PERFORMANCE OF ORGANIC LIGHT EMITTING DEVICES FABRICATED BY COLD WELDING

Abstract:
Organic Light Emitting Devices (OLEDs) have gained significant attention in recent years due to their potential applications in displays, lighting, and optoelectronic devices. The performance of OLEDs is influenced by various factors, including the fabrication techniques employed during device manufacturing. Cold welding, a solid-state welding technique, has emerged as a promising method for fabricating high-performance OLEDs.

This abstract presents a study on the effect of pressure on the performance of OLEDs fabricated using the cold welding technique. The objective of this research is to investigate how different pressure levels during the cold welding process affect the efficiency and reliability of the resulting OLED devices.

The experiment involves fabricating a series of OLEDs using a cold welding process at varying pressure levels. The OLED devices are characterized using various techniques, including current-voltage (I-V) measurements, luminance measurements, and external quantum efficiency (EQE) measurements. The electrical and optical properties of the OLED devices are analyzed to understand the impact of pressure on their performance.

Preliminary results indicate that pressure plays a crucial role in determining the performance of OLEDs fabricated by cold welding. Optimal pressure conditions lead to enhanced charge injection, transport, and recombination within the device, resulting in improved device efficiency and luminance. Conversely, excessive pressure levels can lead to mechanical damage or delamination of the device layers, negatively impacting OLED performance.

Furthermore, the study investigates the long-term stability and reliability of OLEDs fabricated using different pressure conditions. Accelerated aging tests are conducted to assess the degradation mechanisms and lifetimes of the OLED devices under various pressure conditions.

The findings from this study provide valuable insights into the optimization of the cold welding process for OLED fabrication. Understanding the effect of pressure on OLED performance can aid in the development of more efficient and reliable OLED devices. The results contribute to advancing the field of OLED technology and pave the way for the design and manufacturing of next-generation OLED-based optoelectronic devices.
