THE IMPACT OF FINTECH-ENABLED WORKING CAPITAL FINANCING IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL SECTOR: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS.

Abstract:
The pharmaceutical sector plays a critical role in healthcare by developing, manufacturing, and distributing medications and medical products. However, like any other industry, it faces challenges in managing its working capital requirements efficiently. In recent years, the emergence of financial technology (fintech) has revolutionized the financial landscape, offering new avenues for working capital financing.

This study aims to analyze the impact of fintech-enabled working capital financing on the pharmaceutical sector through a comparative analysis. The research focuses on understanding how the adoption of fintech solutions for working capital management affects the financial performance and operational efficiency of pharmaceutical companies.

To conduct the analysis, a comparative approach will be employed, comparing pharmaceutical companies that have adopted fintech-enabled working capital financing with those that have not. Key financial and operational indicators, such as liquidity ratios, profitability measures, cash conversion cycles, and supply chain efficiency, will be evaluated and compared between the two groups.

The study hypothesizes that pharmaceutical companies utilizing fintech-enabled working capital financing will demonstrate improved financial performance and operational efficiency compared to their counterparts who rely on traditional financing methods. The potential benefits of fintech-enabled working capital financing in the pharmaceutical sector include enhanced cash flow management, increased access to working capital, reduced transaction costs, and improved supply chain visibility.

The research will utilize a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, including financial statement analysis, statistical analysis, and interviews with industry experts. The data will be collected from publicly available financial reports, industry publications, and interviews with pharmaceutical executives and fintech professionals.

The findings of this study will contribute to the existing literature on fintech-enabled working capital financing and its impact on the pharmaceutical sector. The results will provide valuable insights for pharmaceutical companies, financial institutions, and policymakers regarding the benefits and challenges associated with adopting fintech solutions for working capital management. The study’s implications may inform strategic decision-making and help shape future policies aimed at fostering innovation and growth in the pharmaceutical industry.
