Abstract:
This abstract provides a concise overview of a study focusing on principals' personnel management techniques aimed at enhancing staff performance in secondary schools within Awka South Local Government Area (LGA). The primary objective of this research is to explore the strategies employed by principals to optimize the performance of teaching and non-teaching staff members.
The study adopts a qualitative research design, utilizing interviews and questionnaires to collect data from principals, teachers, and non-teaching staff in selected secondary schools in Awka South LGA. The data collected will be analyzed using thematic analysis to identify common themes and patterns related to personnel management techniques employed by principals.
The research aims to address the following research questions: (1) What personnel management techniques do principals in secondary schools in Awka South LGA utilize to enhance staff performance? (2) How do these techniques impact staff motivation and job satisfaction? (3) What challenges do principals face in implementing effective personnel management strategies?
The findings of this study will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on personnel management in secondary schools, particularly in the context of Awka South LGA.
