Abstract:
Information Communication Technology (ICT) has become an integral part of modern education, offering numerous opportunities for effective instructional delivery. This abstract focuses on exploring strategies for utilizing ICT by Basic Technology teachers in Ogun State, Nigeria, to enhance their instructional practices and improve student learning outcomes.
The study aims to identify and analyze the current state of ICT integration in Basic Technology classrooms in Ogun State and propose effective strategies for leveraging technology to support instructional delivery. The research methodology will involve a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys, interviews, and classroom observations to gather data from Basic Technology teachers and students.
The findings of this study will shed light on the existing challenges and barriers faced by teachers in integrating ICT in the classroom. It will also identify the current level of ICT infrastructure and resources available in Ogun State schools. Based on the findings, a series of strategies will be developed to address these challenges and promote effective utilization of ICT tools and resources.
The proposed strategies will include professional development programs for teachers to enhance their ICT skills and pedagogical practices. Additionally, recommendations for improving ICT infrastructure and access to resources will be presented, such as securing funding for technology upgrades and establishing partnerships with government agencies, educational institutions, and private organizations.
Furthermore, the study will explore the potential of online platforms, educational software, and multimedia resources that can be integrated into Basic Technology instruction in Ogun State. This will include strategies for selecting and integrating relevant digital tools, designing engaging and interactive lessons, and creating opportunities for student collaboration and creativity.
The anticipated outcomes of this research include improved instructional practices, enhanced student engagement and motivation, and ultimately, better learning outcomes in Basic Technology classrooms. By equipping teachers with the necessary ICT skills and resources, this study aims to contribute to the overall improvement of education in Ogun State, Nigeria.
