Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the effects of self-esteem and the development of ego-identity on innovative work behavior among in-school adolescents in Enugu State. The research recognizes the significance of understanding the psychological factors that influence adolescents' engagement in innovative work behavior, which is crucial for their personal and professional development.
The study will adopt a quantitative research design, utilizing a survey questionnaire to collect data from a sample of in-school adolescents in Enugu State. The participants will be selected through a stratified random sampling technique, ensuring representation from various schools and grade levels. The questionnaire will consist of validated scales measuring self-esteem, ego-identity development, and innovative work behavior.
The data collected will be analyzed using appropriate statistical techniques, such as correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis, to examine the relationships between self-esteem, ego-identity development, and innovative work behavior. Additionally, the mediating role of ego-identity development in the relationship between self-esteem and innovative work behavior will be explored.
The findings of this study will contribute to the existing literature by providing empirical evidence on the significance of self-esteem and ego-identity development in fostering innovative work behavior among in-school adolescents. The results will help educators, parents, and policymakers in Enugu State to design interventions and educational strategies that promote positive self-esteem and ego-identity development, ultimately enhancing adolescents' engagement in innovative work behavior.
