THE APPLICATION OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN BUSINESS EDUCATION IN SOUTH-EAST UNIVERSITIES, NIGERIA
ABSTRACT
This research project aims to explore the application of new technologies in business education in South-East universities, Nigeria. In an era of rapid technological advancements, it is crucial for educational institutions to embrace and integrate new technologies into their teaching and learning practices. This study seeks to examine the current state of technology integration in business education, identify the challenges and opportunities associated with its implementation, and explore the perceptions and experiences of students and faculty regarding the use of new technologies.
A mixed-methods research design will be employed, utilizing surveys, interviews, and classroom observations to collect data from students, faculty, and administrators in South-East universities. The research objectives include assessing the extent of technology integration in business education, identifying the types of technologies used and their applications, exploring the challenges and opportunities associated with technology implementation, and examining the perceptions and experiences of stakeholders regarding the use of new technologies in the classroom.
The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the application of new technologies in business education in South-East universities, Nigeria. The research will assess the current state of technology integration, ranging from the use of basic tools such as computers and projectors to more advanced technologies like e-learning platforms, simulation software, and virtual reality. It will identify the specific applications of these technologies in business education, such as enhancing student engagement, facilitating collaborative learning, supporting experiential learning, and promoting digital literacy. Additionally, the study will highlight the challenges and opportunities associated with technology implementation, including issues of access, infrastructure, faculty training, pedagogical adaptation, and student acceptance.
