Correlational Analysis of Parental Occupation on Students’ Agripreneurial Competency Skills and Choice of Agribusiness after Graduation in Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi, Nigeria

Abstract:
This study investigates the correlation between parental occupation and students' agripreneurial competency skills, as well as their choice of agribusiness after graduation, in Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, Nigeria. The aim of the study is to explore the influence of parental occupation on students' entrepreneurial capabilities and subsequent career choices in the agricultural sector.

The research adopts a correlational analysis approach, employing a structured questionnaire to collect data from a sample of undergraduate students enrolled in agricultural-related programs at ATBU. The questionnaire includes items related to parental occupation, students' agripreneurial competency skills, and their intended choice of agribusiness after graduation.

Through statistical analysis, the study examines the relationship between parental occupation and students' agripreneurial competency skills. Additionally, it explores the association between parental occupation and students' choice of agribusiness, investigating whether parental occupation influences students' career decisions in the agricultural sector.

The findings of this study are beneficial to several stakeholders in the agricultural and educational sectors. Policymakers and educators can gain insights into the impact of parental occupation on students' agripreneurial competency skills and career choices. This knowledge can inform the development of educational programs and policies that enhance students' entrepreneurial abilities and align them with the evolving needs of the agricultural industry.

Furthermore, the study contributes to the existing body of knowledge on the influence of parental occupation on students' career paths. By focusing specifically on agribusiness and agricultural entrepreneurship, it sheds light on an understudied area and provides a foundation for further research in related fields.
