Effect of Blended Learning on Teaching Large Classes in Faculty of Education University of Maiduguri
Abstract:
Large class sizes present unique challenges for effective teaching and learning in higher education institutions. The Faculty of Education at the University of Maiduguri, like many other institutions, faces the issue of accommodating a large number of students within limited physical spaces. This abstract explores the effect of blended learning as a pedagogical approach to address the challenges associated with teaching large classes in the Faculty of Education at the University of Maiduguri.
Blended learning combines face-to-face instruction with online learning activities, offering a flexible and interactive learning environment that can potentially enhance student engagement, participation, and learning outcomes. By employing blended learning approaches, this study aims to investigate how the integration of technology and online resources can mitigate the limitations imposed by large class sizes and improve the overall teaching and learning experience.
The research methodology involves a mixed-methods approach, including quantitative data collection through surveys and qualitative data collection through interviews and observations. The study focuses on a sample of teachers and students from various departments within the Faculty of Education, University of Maiduguri.
The findings of this study will contribute to the existing body of research on blended learning and its impact on large class instruction.
