Abstract:
This study aims to explore the relationship between family levels of expenditures and socio-cognitive adjustment levels of adolescents in Anambra State, Nigeria. The socio-cognitive adjustment of adolescents is an important aspect of their overall well-being and development. Understanding the factors that influence their socio-cognitive adjustment can provide valuable insights for policymakers and practitioners working in the fields of education, psychology, and family welfare.

The study will employ a quantitative research design, utilizing surveys to collect data from a representative sample of adolescents in Anambra State. The sample will include participants from different socioeconomic backgrounds to ensure a diverse representation of family expenditure levels. The survey will measure variables such as family levels of expenditures and socio-cognitive adjustment of adolescents.

Data analysis will involve statistical techniques such as correlation analysis and regression analysis to examine the relationship between family levels of expenditures and socio-cognitive adjustment levels of adolescents. Control variables such as parental education, occupation, and family structure will be considered to account for potential confounding factors.

The findings of this study will provide empirical evidence on the relationship between family levels of expenditures and socio-cognitive adjustment levels of adolescents in Anambra State, Nigeria. It is hypothesized that higher family levels of expenditures will be associated with better socio-cognitive adjustment among adolescents. The results will contribute to the existing literature on adolescent development and inform policymakers and practitioners about the importance of family financial resources in promoting positive socio-cognitive adjustment outcomes for adolescents.
